July 2026

July 1st @ 7 pm. CANADA DAY BOAT PARADE (free participation)

CANADA DAY BOAT PARADE (free participation), Wednesday July 1st @ 19:00

A few days prior to the parade:

  • A few days before the parade, we will be sharing a map of the lake, showing the gathering point.  The map will be shared on the Facebook group “Gens du lac Bernard / Lake Bernard Folks” and as part of an email distributed on the Lac Bernard Listserv.
  • The participants are encouraged to decorate their boat (for example, with flags and numerous lights) to display the Canada Day spirit.  An official panel of judges will evaluate and determine the winning vessel for the Best Decorated Boat award.

On the day of the parade:

  • The participating boats will all meet at 19:00 at the Rendez-Vous Point shown on the map and anchor down until the lead boat departs (at 19:30).
  • Participating boats will follow the lead boat (about 15 metres apart) and parade at slow speed in single file along the shore of the lake.  The parade will stay a minimum of 15 meters from shore (and 15 meters from obstacles in the water).  The parade will be going along the shores until the boats return to the starting point, where the parade will end.
  • Have fun!  Wave at the folks watching on shore and on the docks, by blowing the horn and/or playing music on loud speakers!
  • The parade will end around 21:00, with sufficient twilight allowing for the safe return of boats to their proper dock.
  • In compliance with provincial regulations, the captain of the boat must not consume alcohol or be under the effect of alcohol (or other substance) while in the care of the vessel and its occupants.
  • Boat owners will feel free to depart from the parade when they feel that the amount of light remaining is insufficient.
  • Please note that at all times, the captain of each boat is entirely responsible for the safety of their boat and occupants.

Saturday July 25th @ 7 pm, KATIE POWER in CONCERT at the CLUBHOUSE

Join Katie Power for a musical journey into some of your favourite classics and Katie’s heartwarming originals. Expect positive vibes and good company!

Tickets to this event are available here.

Katie Power is a St. John’s–based singer-songwriter whose music blends the truth of soul, the warmth of reggae, and the energy of contemporary pop, with groove at the centre of every song. Her song writing carries raw realness and energy, balancing vulnerability with strength while moving listeners with every beat.

With more than twenty years of artistic practice, Katie’s musical journey was shaped by singing from a young age, self-taught guitar, and later emerging as a singer-songwriter and community-based music leader serving thousands. In 2015, she expanded into the studio and onto the stage, performing live in settings ranging from intimate gatherings to larger stages. Audiences can’t help but be captivated, drawn in, and moved by the heartfelt energy she brings to every performance. She has appeared on Rogers TV and NTV’s Meetings with Remarkable People, performed alongside other local talent, and featured in Afro-pop releases during the pandemic.

Her debut album Believe was released in 2018, toured provincially, and continues to be streamed nationally. She released the single Tired in 2025 and is now working with Hurricane Music on her eleven-track album Lost in the Mix, a vibrant project that is setting her up to take her music to the global scene.

Opening act:  The Depth  featuring Finn Kennedy & Elliot Lockhart

Finn Kennedy (who hails from Lac Bernard’s Turtle Bay) and Elliot Lockart (Lac Bernard’s Mitchell’s Bay) have been playing music together since they were in grades five and six at Wakefield Elementary school when one day, they entered the school talent show.  In the three years since then, they’ve played shows in Rupert, the Black Sheep Inn and at the Ottawa Bluesfest.

Warm-up act:  Lac Bernard Karaoke Showcase

Sunday July 26th @ 10:30 to 12:30 pm, KATIE POWER workshop

During this workshop with Katie you can expect an energetic upgrade experience in relation to your Self Love, amplifying that inner supply and connection to self love. We can get so weighed down from all the responsibilities, fears and negative energy. This can collect and cloud us from what is most important – our own inner supply and relationship to love and self.

      You can expect:

      • gentle yoga flow movement to start the day (15 – 20 minutes) activating the physical
      • the wellness workshop aspect, teh deep dive into the old and realizing what is actually needing to be re-activated
      • a powerful release exercise from the old clutter
      • activation and energetic upgrade returning you to that highest vibration of love and that most important relationship – the one with yourself.

Tickets to this event are $40 for members and $50 for non-members.

          Annual General Meeting

BOAT PARADE - Wednesday July 1st, 7 pm (rain date - Tuesday) No charge. Prizes!

          The parade:

          • At all times, the captain of the boat is entirely responsible for the safety of their boat and occupants.
          • As proposed, the participating boats will all meet at 19:00 in the bay in front of Gaye Moffatt’s cottage (same spot as last year) and anchor down until the lead boat departs (at 19:30).  Participating boats will follow the lead boat (about 15 metres apart) and parade at slow speed in single file along the shore of the lake. We’ll stay about a minimum of 15 meters from shore (and 15 meters from obstacles in the water).    The parade will proceed along the shores until the boats return to the start point, where the parade will end.
          • The owners of each participating boat are encouraged to decorate their boat (for example, with flags and numerous lights), blow the horn and/or play music on loud speakers.
          • The parade will start at 19:30 and will end at approximately 21:00, with sufficient twilight allowing for the safe return of boats to their proper dock.
          • In compliance with provincial regulations, the captain of the boat must not consume alcohol or be under the effect of alcohol (or other substance) while in the care of the vessel and its occupants.
          • Boat owners feel free to depart from the parade when you feel that the amount of light remaining is insufficient.
